60/ Arab Parliament strongly condemns drone attack on UAE’s Barakah plant
Cairo, May 17 (Petra) -- Arab Parliament President Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi on Sunday strongly condemned a blatant drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates, which caused a fire in the vicinity of the Barakah nuclear power plant. Al-Yamahi stated that targeting vital civilian infrastructure constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability. He emphasized that the assault represents an unacceptable breach of the UAE's sovereignty and a direct threat to its territorial integrity and critical facilities. The parliament president reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, extending complete backing for all measures Abu Dhabi implements to safeguard its national security and protect its vital installations. He reiterated the legislature's firm stance against all forms of terrorist attacks that target the peace and stability of Arab nations. Al-Yamahi further stressed that the security of the UAE is an indivisible part of pan-Arab national security. He called on the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance against these hostile actions, which threaten regional peace and run contrary to international law and the United Nations Charter. //Petra// AF
