23/ Lower House Head: Military retirees a "school of loyalty, dedication"
Amman, May 18 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi said on Monday the 80th independence anniversary is a moment of national pride, a time to reflect on Jordan's journey that was written with sweat, patience, and the integrity of its men. "The Kingdom remained steadfast in the face of challenges, thanks to strong bonds between the leadership and people, and the sacrifices of the Jordan Armed Forces – the Arab Army, and security services," he said in remarks on Independence Day and Army Day. "The Hashemite banner has remained a symbol of pride and dignity since the Great Arab Revolt, led by Sharif Hussein bin Ali," he spoke at a meeting in Sahab to honor ex-serviceman. Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has continued the journey of building a modern state, based on the rule of law, solid institutions, and political, economic, and administrative modernization, he said.
